Behind the Scenes Tour
Ever wonder what happens behind the scenes at Adventure Aquarium? Join us for a guided, in-depth tour that will highlight all that goes into running an aquarium and providing exceptional care for our animals.
Age Limit: All Ages
*Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a paid participating adult.
Capacity: 10 participants
When: Saturday-Sunday at 2:30 pm
Duration: 60 minutes
Add-On Cost: $49.99 per person plus tax (10% off for Gold & Platinum members)
*All encounters and tours are non-refundable. Please check age restrictions to confirm all guests are eligible to participate. Encounters and tours can be rescheduled by calling 844-474-FISH (3474) at least 24 hours before the scheduled time. If Adventure Aquarium needs to reschedule for any reason, refunds will be provided. Please check in at least 15 minutes before your scheduled encounter/tour. Guests arriving after the start of the encounter will not be able to participate, and the encounter will not be refunded or rescheduled.

What to Expect:
- You will experience the inner workings of the aquarium’s Husbandry department.
- The tour includes a sneak peek of the behind-the-scenes areas: Shark Realm, Ocean Realm, Water Quality Lab, Fish Holding, Hippo Holding, Food Preparation, and the Animal Health Office.
- This is an education and conservation-based tour.
- You may share your encounter with up to 10 people.
- Your encounter lasts approximately 60 minutes.
- Our professional photography team will be at your tour to capture all your memories. Photos will be available for purchase on the day of your encounter at H2O Photos in the Lobby.
For Your Safety:
- You MUST wear closed-toed shoes during your tour.
- Animals are NOT allowed to be touched due to New Jersey State law.
- Guests must follow all biologists’ directions, or you will be asked to exit the tour for the safety of other guests and the animals.
- Cell phones are NOT permitted during tours for the safety and well-being of our animals. Please keep your cell phones in your pocket or bag.
- Should you require mobility aids or accommodations, please call 844-474-FISH (3474) in advance of your visit so our teams are prepared.
