Hosting an Event

Find the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about hosting an event at Adventure Aquarium.

Parking is additional and can be discussed with your Sales Professional.

A Certificate of Insurance is needed for events in Currents Ballroom and Adventure Aquarium. This insurance would protect the exhibits, Aquarium/Currents building and property from any damage you, your guests, or your vendors may cause.

The certificate of insurance can be added to an existing insurance policy as an umbrella policy or purchase special event insurance on line at Wed Safe or Private Event Insurance – there is an additional cost.

Evening events are a total of 5 hours – additional time can be requested, but additional charges will apply.

Currents Ballroom 6 PM - 11 PM – times can be adjusted as needed
Adventure Aquarium 7PM - 12 AM – times can be adjusted as needed

Day events are 4 hours and must end by 4:00pm.

We have the ability to do three events in one evening. The only shared space is the parking area and promenade. We try to stagger start times to avoid both parties entering at the same time.

The wedding cake is not included in the packages. ARAMARK does work with a bakery if you want the cake included in the package, additional charges will apply.

ARAMARK will provide 5 votive candles on the guest’s tables and 3 votives on high top tables. ARAMARK can discuss different centerpieces options at an additional cost. If you bring in your own centerpieces that need assembly, the additional cost will be $150.00.

We do not provide chair covers. ARAMARK is a full service caterer and can assist with chairs covers at an additional cost.

Adventure Aquarium can be accessed at 5:00pm. Currents Ballroom will depend on the event schedule but usually can be accessed at 4:00pm on the day of the event.

Doors will open 15 minutes before the event start time and guests will be “held” in an area until the start of the event.

You can have additional time after the 5 hour standard timeframe for an additional charge.

Yes, we have a ceremony setup and breakdown cost that can be discussed with the sales specialist.

Yes, linens are included with a choice of over 50 colors.

We have little storage space but do allow items to be dropped off the day before the event. Items must be removed at the end of the event since space is limited.

Currents Ballroom has glass high-top tables that do not need linens that can be used for the event. Adventure Aquarium has 15 high-top tables that can be used but there will be an additional charge for linens.

Yes. There will be an additional charge based on the size of the group.

There will be an additional charge for access to the Aquarium exhibits areas.

No. ARAMARK is the exclusive caterer for Adventure Aquarium and Currents Ballroom and must provide all food and beverage served at the event. The only exception is a wedding cake and small favor gifts.

The following are not permitted in Currents Ballroom or Adventure Aquarium: confetti, sand, live fish, dried marine life, glitter, rice, bird seed, adhesive tape, monofilament line, smoke machines, bubbles/bubble machines and any balloons. Nothing should be posted, nailed, screwed or otherwise attached to the walls, floors, exhibit graphics or other parts of the buildings, furnishings or surroundings. All candles must be enclosed.

Yes. Please review our event guidelines. We are happy to provide you with a list of recommended vendors. No balloons are permitted in the Aquarium or Currents Ballroom.
