With the start of the Summer Olympics, get off the sidelines and in on the fun with Adventure Aquarium’s Shark Summer Sea of Champions.

Now through August 8, Adventure Aquarium is celebrating the quest for gold.

Are you faster than a Nile hippopotamus?

Speedier than an African penguin?

Throughout the Aquarium and on social media channels, the Aquarium will highlight our animal champions and how they might stack up against the Olympic competition.

When visiting, guests can search for flags corresponding with animal’s countries of origin for the chance to win a Shark and Ray Encounter.

“Adventure Aquarium has animals from all over the world living right here in New Jersey,” said Molly Deese, Executive Director. “We love bringing families together to learn about our animals, their behaviors and their place in our world.”

Plus, save like a champion! From July 23 through August 8, Gold Memberships are on sale for the price of Regular Memberships, a $15 savings. This is the perfect way to experience a full-year of underwater exploration with more than 15,000 aquatic animals and fun upcoming events like Christmas Underwater featuring Scuba Santa.

In addition to benefits like discounted parking, member-only events, guaranteed best renewal pricing and automatic entry to win prizes including a trip to Dollywood, Gold Members receive two seasonal Bring-A-Friend tickets. Membership does matter as it supports the Aquarium’s mission to provide exceptional animal care, continuous education and conservation efforts.

Sea of Champions is part of Adventure Aquarium’s Shark Summer. With 12 shark species, Adventure Aquarium is home to the largest collection of sharks in the Northeast. The aquarium features Shark Tunnel, a 40-foot long tunnel with 180-degree views of sand tiger sharks, sandbar sharks, Atlantic blacktip sharks and nurse sharks, Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey’s Shark Bridge, the world’s longest V-shaped rope suspension bridge crossing just inches above Shark Realm and Touch A Shark, a one-of-a-kind exhibit where guests can actually reach in to touch bamboo and epaulette sharks. Not to mention, Adventure Aquarium is one of only two U.S. aquariums that a great hammerhead shark, the largest species of hammerhead shark, can call home.
