CAMDEN, N.J. – Camden’s Waterfront is going to get a bit brighter tonight around 6:15 p.m. during the official Lighting Ceremony of Adventure Aquarium’s new sign and the building’s signature dome.
For the first time in its nearly 30-year existence, the Aquarium will have an illuminated sign spanning 118 feet on the west side of the building facing the Delaware River. Seventeen letters, each 12 feet tall and weighing 500lbs., spell out “Adventure Aquarium.”
The building’s dome, located above the Aquarium’s Rotunda, will also be illuminated after more than 20 years of darkness with 126 colored LED lights, allowing for almost 2,000 different color variations to be displayed.
“We are excited to once again have Adventure Aquarium lighting up the Camden waterfront,” said Molly Deese, Executive Director of Adventure Aquarium. “With clear visibility from Philadelphia, the new sign and lights will help draw attention to the Aquarium from tourists and residents alike.”
