Adventure Aquarium To Honor Turtles With A Summer Shell-A-Bration

CAMDEN, N.J. (May 23, 2022) –Adventure Aquarium announced today, World Turtle Day, that their 30^th birthday party will continue with all things turtle-y awesome during their Summer Shell-A-Bration, taking place from May 27 through June 26. The month-long, fin-tastic festivities will include the introduction of Adventure Aquarium’s brand-new Turtle Scouts, up-close experiences with Aquarium shell-ebrities (aka sea turtles, terrapins, tortoises and more!), and other espe-shell-y fun activities!

Throughout the Shell-A-Bration, guests will have the chance to participate in the following activities and experiences:

Become a Turtle Scout (FREE)

Adventure Aquarium is introducing its brand-new Turtle Scouts to get kids excited about ocean conservation and protecting our planet’s turtles. All newly-inducted scouts will take the “O-fish-al Turtle Scout Oath” to receive their pin of approval and a special certificate. Turtle Scouts can also decorate their own eco-friendly paper sash (no plastic in Turtle Scout territory!).

 Sea Turtle Snack Time (FREE)

Watch our sea turtles enjoy their leafy greens during daily live feeds from the Ocean Realm Panoramic Window.

Tortoise & Terrapin Up-Close Encounters (FREE)

Adventure Aquarium biologists will host daily encounters with their collection of tortoises and terrapins, giving guests the chance to ask questions about and get up-close and personal with some of their cutest reptile friends.

Turtle….Talks, Trivia and Tours (FREE)

Throughout their month-long Shell-A-Bration, Adventure Aquarium will offer several educational activities, including a daily turtle-themed Walk the Plank game show, Turtle Talk Q&As with a reptile expert, and a self-guided scavenger hunt challenging guests to find all of the Aquarium’s shelled reptile species.

Top of Ocean Realm Tour (DONATION)

Get a behind-the-scenes, aerial view of the Aquarium’s Ocean Realm exhibit, home to many creatures, including the Aquarium’s collection of sea turtles, a great hammerhead shark, stingrays, and countless other aquatic animals. Top of Ocean Realm Tours can be purchased in advance online only by donating $10 toward the Adventure Aquarium ACTS conservation fund – for an additional $5, guests can add a commemorative photo to their experience– BOOK HERE. **Children must be at least two (2) years old to participate.

Sea Turtle Encounter (PAID)

Book a sea turtle encounter for up to four (4) guests and get the chance to tong-feed Adventure Aquarium’s crew of sea turtles – Ozzy, Old Green, Bob and Stitches – from a dock on the top of the Ocean Realm exhibit. Sea turtle encounters are limited to once per day and are available for purchase online only – BOOK HERE. **Children must be at least eight (8) years old to participate.
