Below are the Aquarium’s upcoming sensory-inclusive dates and times for April:

  • Sunday, April 7 | 9:30 - 10:30 AM
  • Sunday, April 14 | 9:30 - 10:30 AM
  • Sunday, April 21 | 9:30 - 10:30 AM
  • Sunday April 28 | 9:30 - 10:30 AM

Adventure Aquarium has been certified sensory-inclusive with KultureCity since 2022. This certification ensures that all of the programs and events hosted by the Aquarium are sensory-inclusive. The certification process also requires staff at Adventure Aquarium to be retrained annually to understand and recognize guests with sensory needs and how to handle a sensory overload situation.

Adventure Aquarium offers the following resources for guests with sensory sensitivities:

A limited number of sensory bags are available to sign out from the Aquarium’s Info or Guest Services Desks and are equipped with noise-canceling headphones, fidget tools, and verbal cue cards.

Adventure Aquarium’s multi-use Nursing and Family Room can be used as a private, quiet space for guests experiencing sensory overload.

Signage is posted around the Aquarium to alert guests to louder areas or “Headphone Zones” and remind them to utilize noise-canceling headphones if needed.

Guests can check out Adventure Aquarium's social story here or download the KultureCity App to learn more about what to expect before visiting the Aquarium.
