Even though little blues are in Australia, there are things you can do to protect local bird species in your backyard. Build a bird-friendly habitat with native plants, clean water and bird feeders, keep you cats inside, and add window clings to windows and doors so flying birds can see it.

Known for their striking slate-blue feathers, little blue penguins are the smallest species of penguin in the world. As a diurnal species, they spend most of their day swimming and foraging at sea along the coastlines of Southern Australia and New Zealand. Because of their small stature, little blues are also known as "fairy penguins."
