African penguins are a species of warm-weather penguins hailing from the coast of Southwestern Africa. Despite their size, African penguins have quite an appetite and can eat up to 20% of their body weight in just one sitting.

African penguins are commonly mistaken for Magellanic penguins. You can tell the difference because African penguins have a single band of black feathers that cuts across the breast, whereas the Magellanic has a double bar on the throat and chest.
