A Festive Experience is Coming to Adventure Aquarium

The holiday season is a special time of year at Adventure Aquarium! Christmas Underwater returns for it’s 13th season bringing with it the immersive experiences visitors have enjoyed each and every year. They have even added new exciting events and features to celebrate this year!

It would not be the holiday season for my family unless we visit Scuba Santa. He will be waving to guests from the Ocean Realm’s Panoramic Window multiple times a day. You can even take a family selfie inside Santa’s Study located in Zone B.

We also look forward to the World’s Largest Underwater Christmas Light Display. This attraction includes the World’s Tallest Underwater Christmas Tree measuring over 18 feet tall! Made of aquarium safe materials, the tree includes 400 custom sculpted corals and over 1,500 LED lights.

Thanks to some Christmas magic, snow falls from the Rotunda ceiling multiple times a day transforming the open space into a frosty and sparkling Snowtunda to add to the Christmas Underwater experience.

Christmas Underwater features four festive show options when you visit the Aquarium. The difficult part is deciding which is the family favorite.

• Does It Snow In the Ocean? takes place in Shark Den and is an educational program all about how weather affects animals and their ocean habitats.
• Fishmas Traditions takes place in Ocean Realm Theatre. Here, you will see the Adventure Aquarium Elfish helpers assist Scuba Santa while he prepares for the big day as well as share what traditions the animals have at the Aquarium.
• Merry Fishmas, Boris! is a puppet show perfect for younger visitors! Come and see puppet friends Whitney and Finley try to surprise Boris the shark with the perfect gift for Fishmas!

Tips When Visiting Christmas Underwater

1. Visit Adventure Aquarium website for a daily schedule. 

2. Christmas Underwater runs from Friday, Nov. 26, 2021 through Friday, Dec. 24, 2021.

3. Make a reservation for your visit. 

4. Decide on the best attire to wear in order to capture a photo with Scuba Santa. Does your family or group like to coordinate colors, dress up or wear holiday pajamas?  

5. Children can share their wishes with Scuba Santa by dropping their personalized letters in a special mailbox at Jules Verne Gallery.
