On-Site Visits and Filming
All members of the news media requesting interview and/or on-site filming access at Adventure Aquarium must contact our Public Relations department in advance of their arrival. Members of the news media must be escorted by an Adventure Aquarium team member at all times while on property.

Tripods can be accommodated in some areas of the Aquarium with advance permission. For the health and well-being of our animals, flash and heavy lighting are not allowed in certain areas of the aquarium. Please discuss your lighting and flash needs with our Public Relations department before your visit.

Media Ticket Requests
Working members of the news media may submit a request for complimentary tickets to Adventure Aquarium. Please contact our Public Relations Department at 1-844-474-FISH (3474) no less than two working days in advance of your requested visit date. Requests for complimentary tickets are not guaranteed and subject to approval.

Nonprofit Donation Requests

First-Ever Sandbar Shark Pups Born

Adventure Aquarium officially announced the newest additions to the largest collection of sharks on the east coast with the birth of two female sandbar shark pups in the facility’s Shark Realm exhibit. The sandbar pups are the first-ever to be born at Adventure Aquarium.

Baby Boom Continues! First-Ever Little Blue Penguin Chick Hatched

Adventure Aquarium officially announced the hatching of its first-ever little blue penguin chick, just days before the one year anniversary of the opening of Little Blue Beach and the arrival of the little blue penguin colony.  The chick hatched inside a nesting box to first-time parents, Sheila and Goose, on the Little Blue Beach exhibit on December 3, 2016 under the watchful eye of Aquarium staff.

Little Blue Additions

Adventure Aquarium officially announced two adult female little blue penguins were added to the colony to help support the Association of Zoos and Aquarium’s (AZA’s) Species Survival Plan (SSP). With the new female penguins’ arrival the colony now consists of five females and six males.

The Fab Four: African Penguin Chicks Hatch to Thriving Colony

Adventure Aquarium officially announced the hatching of four African penguins, bolstering an already booming colony at Penguin Island. The new additions hatched in two clutches just weeks apart from each other in December, 2016.

On the first #TurtleTuesday of February 2017, Adventure Aquarium announced the name of its rehab and release loggerhead sea turtle hatchling.

Back and bigger than ever, visitors to Adventure Aquarium will be able to show the #HippoLove during Hippo Awareness Weekend, Saturday, February 18 through Monday, February 20. Due to its popularity, the event has expanded to include activities in Zone D’s Hippo Haven as well as the Blue Mile, located in Zone B.

Adventure Aquarium guests have helped raise a record-setting $16,093.24 donation during Hippo Awareness Weekend, held over the Presidents’ Day holiday weekend. All of the funds raised from the weekend benefit the non-profit organization Turgwe Hippo Trust in Zimbabwe, Africa and the wild hippos that reside there.
