Hippos Up Close

Hippos Up Close is an interactive experience giving Adventure Aquarium guests the opportunity to see a new dimension of our West African River Experience. Learn how our Biologists work around these enormous animals. Guests will see the hippos' night quarters as well as their husbandry training. After the hippos are safely tucked away behind the scenes, guests will be able to meet our African porcupine! Guests will receive instructions regarding procedures and guidelines before entering the behind-the-scenes areas and interacting with the hippos and porcupine.

What You Get: Included in the Hippos Up Close price is your admission to the aquarium and free parking for 1 car per paid participant. You will also receive a souvenir t-shirt, a digital photo of the experience, and memories from the experience of a lifetime!

Cost: $145 per person ($130 for Adventure Pass Holders). Advanced reservations are required.

Availability: Saturday & Sunday. One session per day (10:30am - 11:15 am), each session is for up to four (4) guests

Requirements: Hippos Up Close is open to adults and children ages 6 and up. Children ages 6-17 must be accompanied by a participating parental figure (i.e. parent/legal guardian) and must provide proof of age via a Birth Certificate prior to participating in this experience. This experience is wheelchair accessible, so please inform the sales representative of any special needs upon booking.
