Horseshoe Crab Counts
Teams of Adventure Aquarium volunteers travel to Townbank Beach in Cape May, NJ ten times a season, (around the full moon in May and June) to participate in the Horseshoe Crab Survey Project. Information collected supports national data collection and conservation measures, in a project run by Limuli Labs and the University of Delaware.

African Penguin Awareness Weekend
An annual event! Typically in October or November, Adventure Aquarium's Husbandry staff generates programming and special activities for our guests, designed to generate money in support of the South African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB). Proceeds from the sales of penguin paintings, bracelets and adoptions goes directly to penguin conservation in Africa.

Freshwater Mussel Recovery Program
Adventure Aquarium's Animal Husbandry team participates in surveys of the Delaware River and local tributaries for freshwater mussels. Results of the survey are sent to the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary.

FrogWatch
Adventure Aquarium, in partnership with the New Jersey Academy for Aquatic Sciences, co-sponsors a local chapter of the AZA's citizen science program, FrogWatch USA, which invites individuals and families to learn about the wetlands in their communities and help conserve amphibians by reporting the calls of local frogs and toads.
